WA: Man missing after catamaran capsizes
PERTH, Aug 18 AAP - A man is missing off Western Australia's Pilbara coast after hiscatamaran capsized early today.
Two of his companions, a man and a woman, were plucked from the sea this morning andwere receiving treatment for exposure, a police spokeswoman said.
She said authorities received a mayday call from the distressed vessel about 1.50am(WST) and a search was mounted using a police fixed-wing aircraft, a helicopter and twoboats.
The woman was discovered clinging to the catamaran and the man a short distance fromthe vessel, which was about 32 nautical miles off the coast of Port Hedland.
"They're both okay but they need a bit of medical attention," the spokeswoman said.
The missing man, who is in his sixties, is believed to have been wearing a lifejacket.
